University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras

The University of Puerto Rico’s principal mission is transmit and enhance the knowledge of the community in the arts and sciences, through the action of its professors, researchers, other personnel, students, and alumni and to contribute to the development, cultivation, and enjoyment of the aesthetic and ethic values of culture.

Students enroll in regular university courses and study alongside Puerto Rican students. Fields of study include education, health, humanities, and social sciences. Eligibility Requirements: 2.5 GPA; 2 years college-level Spanish or equivalent.

University of the Sacred Heart Exchange, San Juan

Developed for students with an advanced level of Spanish, this program offers students the opportunity to enroll in regular university courses at USC. Areas of particular interest include communications and education. Additional fields of study include business administration (accounting, economics, finance, marketing, tourism), humanities (English, French, philosophy, Spanish, theology), natural sciences (biology, chemistry, math, nursing physics), and social sciences (anthropology, political science, psychology, social science, sociology). On-site support is provided by the Office of Exchange Programs at USC, where students will also receive assistance with finding off-campus housing. Dormitory space is also available. Exchange slots are limited. Others may be able to attend at additional cost. Eligibility Requirements: Juniors and Seniors; 2.75 GPA; 5 semesters of college-level Spanish. Deadline: March 1; October 1; late applications considered.
